Church of San Benedetto Via San Benedetto, Catania 95124 - Italy Phone: +39 (0)95 7150499 The Church of San Benedetto is sited on top a high flight of steps and dates back to between 1704 and 1713. It was built on the site of an earlier church destroyed by the 1693 earthquake. The church was renovated in 1795 in the neo-classic style and semi-columns were added to the façade, which is richly decorated, built out of limestone and has a beautiful engraved door. The interior has one nave with marble and stuccoes and the vestibule is decorated with statues and a multicoloured marble floor.
